The Kentucky Office of Community Health Workers (KOCHW) serves as the official governing authority for Community Health Worker certification in Kentucky. KOCHW issues certification to individuals who meet established requirements, including successful demonstration of the eight core competencies through qualified training programs or documented work experience.

Certifications
Read the Kentucky CHW Manual and ensure eligibility requirements are fulfilled
Choose the link based on the the certification pathway and create and account and application through Certemy.
Or
Submit $50 payment to the KOCHW via online portal.
Check Certemy account and email frequently for communication regarding your application.
Legislative Required Courses only have to be completed once and not repeated each year.

- Fees are paid when applying or recertifying
- Official state process through Kentucky Office of Community Health Workers.
KOCHW certifies you and KYACHW offers networking to support your CHW journey. Both organizations work closely together, but they are not the same. many CHW’s choose to be part of both. KYACHW membership is open to everyone- certification is not required. We welcome certified CHW’s, students, future chw’s and supporters alike.
